I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!

Grade 1 homework and spelling are due on Friday as usual. We have been talking about the ow/ou sound this week. Our spelling words are may, long, called, most, much, cow, brown, now, cloud, proud.

Also, please read with your child every night. We have been talking about comprehension strategies lately. Comprehension means "I understand what I read." When you or your child have finished reading a page or two, ask your child a few questions about what he/she has read. If they are not sure or do not understand what has been read, they can try using the "Back up and Reread" strategy.
