K-2 News
We finished our You and Your World unit today. We discussed how the Mi'kmaq and Maliseet people used storytelling as a way to important lessons. We read a story called The Granddaughter and the Big Fish. The lesson we learned was to listen to what your parent or guardian tells you.

***Backwards Day is tomorrow so dress up and show some school spirit :)

Grade 1 News
In Literacy, we talked about sentence structure and fluency. Sometimes our sentences can be confusing for other to read. For example: "He saw it." This sentence poses many questions, like WHO? and WHAT? We practiced filling our sentences with lots of great words to help describe what we are trying to say. Some of the students changed that sentence into: "Thomas saw a bee in a tree at the park." Great work kids!

In Math we made shapes with smaller shapes, then we traced the shapes we created and colored in the smaller shapes we had used.
