Today, we went to the library to get new books, and then we practiced our poem again.
Tomorrow is School Colors Day so remember to wear blue and gold/yellow.

Grade 1 News
In Literacy, we had played a spelling game with our spelling words for our test tomorrow. Please review the words with your child. We also played some games to review our word wall words, then we shared some of our awesome retells with the class

In Math, reviewed doubles (3+3=6) and shapes. Then we worked on an investigation: Miss Guptill has to make 15 cookies for a party on Saturday. She is going to make 2 different kinds. What could the plate of cookies look like? Teams worked to figure out different plate combinations. We came up with over 10 different combinations. For example 13 chocolate chip, 2 peanut butter, 13+2=15). Then we talked about which plate would probably be best for my party and we decided it would be 8 chocolate chip and 7 peanut butter or 7 chocolate chip and 8 peanut butter because that gives us the most of each cookie. Great job Grade 1's!
