Grade 1 News
Today we each had our own morning message, and we filled in words that were missing. We found those words on the word wall. Then we created sentences using our spelling words.
In Math we did some subitizing questions and practiced addition. We reviewed 3D shapes, by matching the name with the shape. Then we used tangrams and other blocks to create other shapes.

K-2 News
In French we read a book called Abracadabra! Atchoum! This book had many words in it that sounded and even looked like English words. We made a list of words that we know that are used in both languages.

In You and Your World we started a new unit on Aboriginal communities. We learned that the Maliseet and Mi'kmaqs were the first people to come to New Brunswick. We built a longhouse on the SmartBoard. This is one type of shelter that they used. We also got to see and hold a moose horn which is made of birch bark. Birch bark was used for making canoes, containers, wigwams, and more!
